Location info dispute

I'm moving this over from my talk page; mainly because it's better suited to be here. Here's my arguments for removing the dox from the page (for future proofing, as of the moment of writing, the page contains his zip address and phone number):

  • ED's rules are against hosting dox directly; and instead suggest posting the dox somewhere else. Exceptions are if the person publicly gave away their dox; so if there's proof he gave away his dox other than his sex offender registry entry, then the dox can be hosted here.
  • The location info reads a lot like a personal army request. Since it's already well-established that ED is not your personal army, this further proves my statement.

  • Tom Pearl was not systematically doxxed by an individual from the internet, he is a registered sex offender and his address is public info which is the definitive reason why i've decided to include it on the article much to your disdain.
  • Tom Pearl is aware of that info being freely available as you already know, he states his name at the beginning of his videos "Hi, My name is Tom Pearl" every fucking time, which in and of itself is a Self doxxing
  • Not a personal army request at all, just an opportunity for opportunistic lulz seekers and enthusiasts whom may read the page to potentially do a little bit of trolling in order to generate some Lulz
  • Generating and creating Lulz is NOT against the rules and doing so is a far cry for the days of internet yore.
  • sure, ED is not a phonebook, but at the same time ED is not /b/, a personal army request is when someone goes on /b/ and posts someones info and tells them to SWAT that address and OP promptly gets told to fuck off. i haven't said anywhere in the location section that he should be swatted, only that people should send him Lulzy things like religious shit and implied they could maybe mail him some goofy shit. if someone were to SWAT him, it would be out of our hands anyway whether the address were listed on ED or not. --  M.Finkberg   11:27, 7 October 2022 (EDT)
Here's my own counter-arguments:
  • Yes, he's a registered sex offender and therefore his address is public, but I don't see it as himself giving away his address. It's the government doing it, not him.
  • I don't see saying your real name as "self-doxing".
  • "send him endless amounts of pizza, free qurans, mormons, Jehova's Witnesses, Gay Niggers, da j00s, gamer girl bath water, freshly made homebrewed Jenkem, and just about anything lulzy you can possibly muster to his house as the possibilities are infinite". This reads like those personal army requests where OP wants the reader to DDoS and/or swat someone, only to be called a faggot.
  • Read the top one. What you wrote in the article looks like a personal army request; and if it is, this contradicts your statement.

it seems to me that you think you're always right. --  M.Finkberg   12:47, 7 October 2022 (EDT)

HAHAHA Disregard that, MarioMario456 suck cocks

There is no "location dispute", only confusion as to what is and is not allowed.

The policies disallow doxing, that is true. But this is old and needs to be re-written.

In this case the guy is a "public figure", and his address is literally on a sex-offender website. The fact the Government made it known is irrelevant.

SSN's and other like ID numbers should not be posted. Nor should there be bank account info, family members that are not germane to the article, or calls for violence (i.e. swatting and personal army requests).
