Encyclopedia Dramatica talk:Advertising
cool
i was glad to see the duck duck go ad the other day, cuz im sure the costs must be getting out of hand. there are enough advertisers who will see the value in this... i hope. -hipcrime 12:42, 13 December 2011 (CET)
Do They Have To Be Real?
I mean, could I buy a spoofy ad? Or like a spoofy PSA type ad making fun of various political figures and/or celebrities? --Onideus 22:48, 13 December 2011 (CET)
- joke adds are fine by me. -- Edgeworth E. Euler 00:37, 14 December 2011 (CET)
- As long as it's just an image or text you can put anything you want up really. --zaiger (talk) 05:18, 15 December 2011 (CET)
The urine thing
It's illegal to sent human waste products over the mail since they pose a biohazard, it was the same with the site to sent somebody poop. Just thought I'd mention that, since ED is now advertising something illegal. --Snowman 15:32, 16 December 2011 (CET)
- It's synthetic you moron. --zaiger (talk) 15:42, 16 December 2011 (CET)
- Also if it's a legal entity ED is not responsible for whatever the fuck they want to advertise H0xnbl0w 15:47, 16 December 2011 (CET)
- Ok so I looked into it and it's not synthetic, but it is completely legal as it is medical-grade. Shitting in an envelope is and sending it to someone is very different. --zaiger (talk) 18:08, 20 December 2011 (CET)
- Alright man, I only wanted to give you guys a heads up just in case. --Snowman 18:03, 30 December 2011 (CET)

Too much
The Text Ads are shit, they enlarge the pages. Too much ads in the left banner. Less ads there pl0x. º_º 22:21, 19 December 2011 (CET)
- I'd suggest moving them to box where "Powered by drama" is (if they can be made horizontal) TKN 22:28, 19 December 2011 (CET)

- Such a business! But, oh, we'll make you such a deal!
- Actually though advertising is MUCH more fun than just doing straight donations!
- Good ads though, not that spammy/pop-up/video shit that ~other~ sites use.

- We're not going to put Wyatt Mann pics on the main page without something to indicate it's a joke, are we? Because if we do we'll be beating off the Metapedia/Stormfront crowd like flies on a cow's ass.-- -brxbrx 06:37, 23 December 2011 (CET)
- Who is Wyatt Mann? --zaiger (talk) 07:04, 23 December 2011 (CET)
- Maybe I got the name wrong. The guy that makes all the racist cartoons-- -brxbrx 14:23, 23 December 2011 (CET)

"Static images"
The page says that "static images" are permitted, but the current ads (especially the God-awful "4chan chicks" abomination) are animated.
Not necessarily saying that ED shouldn't permit animated ads, but it is a discrepancy. — Preceding comment added by Tall Tall Tree (talk • contribs), who is too much of a fucking retard to sign their own posts. IT'S FOUR TILDES (~~~~
), NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!
- As long as it's not stroboscopic it looks just peachy to me. Of course that could be mildly entertaining...randomly inciting seizures. LOL

Adult Friend Finder
Is there a way of blocking particular ads, in particular the "Adult Friend Finder" one? I have no ethical issue with porn whatsoever, but I find those images displayed whilst I'm trying to read articles to be quite unnerving and distracting. Although I expect the response to this to be along the lines of "grow a pair", there's a time and place for such things (which, as a teenage boy, I should know better than anyone).
