Darling in the FranXX is a 2018 animu series by Studio Trigger, the creators of Clothes: The Animated Series, about a group of teenagers who are forced to pilot giant robots that are powered by heterosexuality and were created by Dr. Wily. Much like Revolutionary Girl Utena did with sword duels, Darling in the FranXX makes piloting giant mecha into one big double entendre for fucking. Also the female protagonist is just Lucy from Elfen Lied and some of the monster designs are literally based on electric razors.
Naturally, the denizens of internet shithole Tumblr are not fans of this show as the giant robots cannot be piloted by fags, dykes or "non-binary" fuckwits.
