Same for Did You Know... the only thing I request is to review user submissions first so they are not being ignored. A lot of information can be found by clicking ED Policy, it's on the sidebar. Not a lot really changes as editor. There are some options like protecting and moving pages. If you protect a page, don't set it indefinitely. About the only reason you would do so is to prevent someone from vandalizing an article until they can banned. Until you're very comfortable with what you're doing, I wouldn't touch the Main Page. As for XOTN, you've been submitting ideas to the talk page. If you click the project page tab, that is where you can set it. There are instructions on top and you can view the source to see what should be done. Something else you can do is watch recent changes. Just make sure you are nice to others as I have been with you. It is possible you might get lucky. So not much has changed, even as an administrator I really do what everyone else does. Speaking strictly as "some guy," allow me to offer some friendly yet completely unsolicited advice re: EDitor, partly because some of ED policy as listed in policy pages is outdated. EDitorship can be summarized into 2 extra privs.

1. Protection. Protecting pages is the standard response an EDitor has when pages are being blanked or vandalized. Unless the article is the victim of an edit war, the people making these changes are new users, in which case austoconfirmed protection is enough, rather than sysop level protection. You may want to check a vandal's contribs before you protect; if they have very few edits or have joined any time up until about a week ago, autoconfirmed protection will be enough. Or you could just skip this part and go for sysop protection, whatever. 30 minutes is plenty. At this point it would help to slap {{banplz}} on the blanker/vandal's userpage to alert us, the Mighty Supermen Sysops, to the threat. This priv also allows you to edit protected pages, meaning you can tweak templates and set XOTNs. I advise that you observe this process before you involved.
2. Moving. Pretty much the only use for this is fixing spelling and capitalization errors in page titles. Last I checked, policy pages say you should move especially shitty pages to the creator's userspace until they fix it, and there's even a template to help with it, but we don't do that any more.

Nobody gives a fuck if a POTN has been used on EDF, it doesn't exist solely for them. Lazy, as an EDitor you can, and are pretty much expected to, set POTNs yourself. There are a few guidelines: it has to look alright at size 380px, and it can't have nudity or overtly sexual acts.
