Loonatics Unleashed! was a failed attempt to update the classic cartoons of Warner Brothers and turn them into some Power Rangers knock off.

Origins

After somewhat sucessful attempts to revive their classic characters such as appears as teachers/mentors to younger characters who are sort of like them, a CGI movie based on a Nike commerical with some famous basketball guy, and show about them as babies, Warner Brothers announced a new show in which the classic WB cartoons were now EXTREME! Actually they were the descendents of the original characters who were superheroes in the future.

Reactions

Fans of classic Warner Brothers threw a fit upon hearing about this and called for protests. Fans disliked the new character designs and plot and poked fun at them in this Newgrounds cartoon,

by the time the show premiered, these were toned down greatly, but they still got made fun of.

Aftermath

The show lasted for two seasons (I kid you not) and developed a small, but vocal fan following. The most vocal of these being Mary sue queen Sony-Mae, her brainless army of sheep minions and Krypto451, an autistic manchild with a spanking fetish who defends the show and trolls all the haters and "traitors", former fans who gave on the show and joined forces with the haters.
