Trying to salvage some lulz from TV Tropes, wondering if you could help

I've been saving pictures and web pages (in .txt format for ease of editing on any OS) from TV Tropes that are in danger of getting hosed thanks to this pedo/porn hunt BS their moderating Gestapo have started, and since I'm a crappy HTML coder, I was wondering if I provided a massive zip file with all the stuff I saved, could you or someone you know who is good at HTML editing help me put it up here on ED looking like it did on TV Tropes.

I ask because I'm a disgruntled troper who is pissed as hell the mods are fucking around with most of the shit that was vaguely entertaining, and I'm trying to salvage as much as possible (especially some of the lulzier material) and preserve before it gets hosed permanently.

TV Tropes is still undergoing slash and burn operations, so as I get confirmations of what has to die and what will be spared I'm having to update the folder I've been archiving stuff quite a bit.

Once I get a good idea what they plan to hose and what they plan to spare, I plan to post a direct download link on a filesharing provider and I'll send a link with the relevant material.

Site question: If the zip file is small enough, can I provide a direct attachment here on ED? (most of it is text based). If so, what would be the size limit before I have to store it at an off site download link?

About my plan to save TV Trope lulz

I'm sorry I didn't address your question in my earlier post

I was directed your way by Hipcrime, who informed me you would know better than he would about the kind of work I'm doing (saving web pages about to be extinguished), so he told me to ask you for advice.

So far I've learned I'm basically doing what I need to be doing in the first place and your answers to your questions have confirmed I'm basically going to have to save web pages one at a time like I have been doing.

I'm sorry if I wasted your time.

P.S. - I decided I'm going to be saving this massive collection of txt files in a zip archive (there are literally hundreds of pages I've saved so far) as opposed to trying to post it here in its original format (due to sheer volume, though I wouldn't mind some of the pages getting reproduced here if possible), especially since I can't port over any pictures.

Also, there is a page on TV Tropes for "Content Violations" that I've been mining for the stuff getting the axe, and thankfully the speed at which the hosing is moving has given me a ton of time to save a lot of pages.

After having saved some of the lulzier (or at least halfway entertaining) pages from the TV Tropes Pedocide, I figured it would suck if they were never seen again, so I decided to revive them ED style here.

Unfortunately, I'm still a little green at adding pages, so thanks for the redirect, and if you have any other advice, I'd appreciate it.

RE: MIME/image uploading issues

The images I was uploading were all definitely .jpg extensions, with no .exe.jpg skullduggery. I'll try again with the images saved as .png and see if that makes any difference. - edit: another user offered to upload the images and re-submit them to the article, which I see s/he is doing now. Finally managed to save the horrible fanfiction pages

Thanks to TV Tropes terribly inept redirect coding, I was able to rescue the "So Bad Its Horrible Fanfic Pages" reasonably intact, and since I know a few of them (like Rectified Anonymity) are also covered here, I was wondering where I can find a list of links of the fanfics covered on the website so, whenever I repost the horrible fanfic pages (after stripping them of TV Tropes specific code), I can just hot link the fanfic pages already here to the TV Tropes pages after some editing. /sup> 20:02, 22 May 2012 (EDT)

Re: Brony Video Removal

While attempting to add another video, I found that none of the videos past the tenth showed up on the page though they are set up just the same as the first ten - it simply loops back to the first one. I couldn't find any way to expand the videos that could be viewed, so I removed it. I added a topic to the Talk page just a few minutes ago to see if there's anyway around this. That article is so much of a mess a simple tiny edit wouldn't make a difference. That 12,000+ characters was all collected over the months by random people on that Blockland forum adding in their two cents. Most of the people there even added in themselves. The people in the drama section of that article was made out of butthurt and forum ego. The chunk I took out was all created during the big flamewar that started when everyone was all over the article. I keep forgetting that I have to create a new sandbox space just to make large edits over 10,000 characters. So if it makes you feel any better I put back your edit and put mine back in my sandbox. No the problem was not that, I used <noinclude><!--</noinclude> which had the same effect. The issue was is when I put in {{SUBST:BASEPAGENAME}} it subbed in say Encyclopedia Dramatica:Video of the Nao where the subpages use now instead of nao I also figured its easier to find an old revision where the previous month was added, copypaste into notepad and ctrl+h and change the month name. ~O b l i q u e 19:28, 30 June 2012 (EDT)
