Welcome, Rustler

This is serious. READ IT.

Before making your first article look over ED:101. If you don't, it is unlikely that your article will survive for more than sixty seconds and you risk being banned by ED Sysops.

We realize a lot of you are busy or may be new to ED, so here's just the most important info:

  • Read ED:101. Seriously. The information contained within is invaluable. Further tutorials of use can be found here.
  • To answer a message, reply on the user's talk page (Tab at the top that says 'discussion').
  • Sign your comments by using four tildes (like this ~~~~)
  • These are the sysops. If you have a problem, talk to them. They're here to help; we promise.
  • The TJC is the community portal. It's linked to from every page; just look at the top left of the page. Check it daily.
  • Use Special:Upload to upload pictures. Be sure to give them meaningful names. Also, do not upload any CP or Bestiality pr0n or you will be b&.

Onideus

May I suggest that we no longer user the 888chan talk page as a battle field? Don't worry, I promise that I am not getting soft. Yet I do have to think about what is accomplished. In the end we drag others into this and they end up getting the ban hammer. To use that might not mean a lot but to others it does. If we want to wage a war, then on his home turf isn't the place to do it. I hope that makes sense. You know how to contact me. Echo of Schnookums 15:24, 9 August 2013 (EDT)

what --Rustler 15:27, 9 August 2013 (EDT)
I thought we were going to use the ED forums now? I made a thread for it awhile back. I can post the link for whoever wants it, although I think the fun has pretty much played out. It was a fun distraction while it lasted, but I think most everyone has moved on to other games. --Onideus 15:32, 9 August 2013 (EDT)
Onideus, enough. Please. Interstellar Shipping & Trading 15:34, 9 August 2013 (EDT)
Wow Matthew, you actually made a thread so we could laugh at you? That's nice. Real nice. --Rustler 15:35, 9 August 2013 (EDT)
Actually it's sort of the other way around, but you're welcome to join in and try and "turn the tide" if you like.
Here's the link for ya.
...you're probably the only person who still cares though at this point. Most of us don't take the Internet as seriously as you 888Chan kids apparently do.

This has gone far enough and neither side of going to win. Moving the battle to EDF2 isn't going to do any good either IMHO. All of this just needs to stay off ED. Echo of Schnookums 15:40, 9 August 2013 (EDT)

You're presuming that they'll stop. Hatter Addicts generally don't work that way. They're abnormally obsessive/kooky. I mean just look at this guy's edit history. He continually pops in every 4 or 5 days desperately seeking my attention, even after outright ignoring him for WEEKS on end now.
It's really not a bad thing though, it has a rather incredible and profound impact on the site's traffic and draws in a huge number of lurkers who enjoy watching. There are a number of sites on the Internet that have actually been actively attempting to profit off of the traffic I generate.
For example on the Wired and Gizmodo sites they basically let me post whatever I want, even in uber blatant violation of their respective ToS, simply because every time I make a post it incites a gigantor flood in traffic, which in turns makes them more money via their ad banners, popups and so forth.
The same is true here, so as long as the traffic is being directed/controlled to the relevant group/article talk pages it's fine. It's only a problem if it starts spilling over into other articles...which I've never seen (and people would probably start getting banned if it did). There was one incident several months back where someone added a link to my article on another article, but it was acceptable edit, albeit a bit butthurt on their part.
The forums are the best place for such games though I think, since that's more of the casual entertainment side of ED. --Onideus 15:58, 9 August 2013 (EDT)
We've already discussed this. Echo of Schnookums 16:09, 9 August 2013 (EDT)
So Matthew, you believe that me checking ED once every few days has an "incredible and profund impact on the site's traffic". Nice delusion bro. Also, someone who doesn't really like you has recently contacted me by email. Hearing that you have a criminal past is one thing, but seeing it first-hand is a different story. Why don't you tell everyone why were you fired from Walmart, fatboy? Peace out, and keep your diapers fresh. --Rustler 18:36, 9 August 2013 (EDT)
