Why is genetically engineered cat girl sex slavery never mentioned in discussions of the singularity, isn't that much closer than A.I. or human robots that cross the uncanny valley, there was a moratorium on research on human animal chimeras put in place during the 70's. It seems that Britain has recently allowed some to be made so long as they don't have human brain cells; even if it's illegal you'd think someone would combine human trafficking with genetic engineering experiments? If human brain cells make something human in the eyes of an ethics committee wouldn't having an animals brain make it not human? This would also open up the possibility for transgenic cancers and new epizootic diseases; but if you own slaves why would you care about starting a pandemic? Whens the first human child going to have that Flavor savor tomato gene from the fish; that gave the tomato better cold resistance. If no ones even tried yet how do they know what's possible?
Speaking of things no ones bothered to investigate, pharmaceuticals aren't required to be tested on female lab rats because gender isn't a meaningful enough variable to test. Also, no ones bothered to try injecting an embryo into their veins yet either, even though it's something that could have been done even before the invention of the syringe just by using the mouth so suck out air, and tongue to inject into the blood stream and stimulate circulation, that means any animal with a mouth could do this. Kind of sounds a bit like vampires, doesn't it?
