Bushmaster

While I haven't seen photos, I'm fairly certain the Bushmaster in question was an AR15. Bushmaster is just a brand, but they sell AR15s and M16s. Be sure not to mimic all the other "shooter articles", it'll lose all its lulz if it's just turned into another carbon copy crap job. Wouldn't be as reflective of the story either, since it seems like this time there's a *LOT* more "finger pointing" going on. Everyone wants to blame everything but the guy who actually did it, so mocking that aspect makes it much more entertaining than the overly played out "high score" article form (which has been done to death - literally).

I wouldn't call it an agenda so much as a reflection of the situation. ED is supposed to be about documenting Internet lulz/culture/happenings, not an encyclopedia of real world happenings and in that regard almost NO ONE is actually blaming the kid, rather everyone is blaming everything ~but~ the kid who did it and trying to point their fingers at every off the wall thing imaginable.

So in that regard it makes little sense to have the article focus on Adam Lanza when the whole of Internet culture is pretty well ignoring him altogether in favor of pushing private agendas...dozens of them! I'd say for the article to really be good it needs to reflect all of those agendas, or at least the primary ones, and then jam them all together so as to splinter them into one another as a direct reflection of how the situation is playing out online.

For example on the one side you have liberals who want gun bans and to blame everything on guns...but then on the flip side you have conservatives who are blaming violent video games, God and so forth. Basically every angle of it self-serving political posturing so the article should try and reflect that if possible. It's not easy that way of course, it's much easier to simply focus on what the Internet ISN'T...Adam Lanza, but then that's making us look more like Wikipedia rather than Dramatica. --Onideus 19:19, 24 December 2012 (EST)

I type very, very fast, so it's pretty easy for me to get a bit verbose. I also like everyone's edits, generally the more the better. One of the really awesome things about Wikis in general is that they represent collective knowledge/experience/creativity. It's very interesting to see that evolution of thought and perception, continually changing and growing. It's almost like watching a living being, like those biology "life simulator" programs, in a sense it's almost as if an article is a kind of a pseudo-sentient life form. ^__^
