Talk:Middle Ages
Those were the days...
I'd like to think I would have had and blast and fit in well living in the Middle Ages. For one thing, deodorant didn't even exist, and everyone bathed by simply rinsing their bodies in tubs of water. Only royalty/upper class etc used scented shit on their bodies and clothing, but I deffo wouldn't have been in a position like that.
Since I'm in shape, I probably would have been something cool like a blacksmith. I get a kick out of this music video by Killswitch Engage and Howard's position as a hammer-wielding, sword-forging blacksmith:
This episode of Home Movies is also amusing, where none other than Coach McGuirk is the blacksmith:
I even worked at the Renaissance Festival before, serving food in one of the kitchens, and as staff manager of several of the kitchens. I got to walk around shirtless (like a true medieval man) with a clipboard and walkie talkie, making sure everyone was in the right kitchen and doing the right job. I loved the outfits and the Elizabethan dialect they all spoke in. One guy even looked exactly like Captain Jack Sparrow and had a perfect pirate accent.
I gotta remember to buy tickets for it out here when September rolls around. Vermin 13:32, 9 January 2015 (EST)
If by "those were the days" you mean dying at the ripe old age of 25 from a paper-cut infection then go get a time machine and have a blast.... The INSUFFERABLE Tim 19:48, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah, not that part, obviously. That's like saying it would have been cool to live during the prehistoric ages and get eaten by dinosaurs. If I meet my end at an early age, I don't want it to be caused by infections or beasts, I want to either be forcibly suffocated or drowned like a rat. I prefer the former over the latter because I can hold out longer with less anguish above water. File:Vermin drowned rat left for dead.jpg
