I have heard a few times prior that one of the reasons Wikipedia rolled that out was to get more women to edit or something.Any thoughts on this?-- 18:51, 11 January 2015 (EST)
this article is intended to mock the Wikimedia Foundation and its efforts to address a perceived "gender gap" which may not even exist. The Jimbo has said the Foundation will "double down" on efforts to increase female participation to 25%, a noble goal indeed... but with Wikipedia in its golden years, these efforts appear to be a thinly disguised way for them to spend up your donations before the fall of the Foundation, imo. When that happens, pls celebrate by scratching a poorly drawn pot leaf on my gravestone. :P -hipcrime 18:56, 11 January 2015 (EST)
- Don't you have links that connect VE and this gendergap, hip? I could swear I read something about this. — VX 18:57, 11 January 2015 (EST)
- yes, the 2011 Slate article and (of course) El Reg. -hipcrime 19:30, 11 January 2015 (EST)
- this is too hilarious to not post here: $1200 for transcription services and a $3000 stipend... i thought the community was composed of volunteers. this is the perfect time for EDiots to infiltrate the WMF and embezzle their money while you can. -hipcrime 20:58, 11 January 2015 (EST)
