What are you going to do? End human cruelty? Are you going to wave a magic wand over the populace to make people less petty, less ignorant and more empathetic? The fact is that the world is full of assholes. And we’re all assholes to someone. You either live with that, or you die because you can’t. There is no third option. Strength or death. Perseverance or failure. That is the world you live in. And nothing you can do is going to change or soften that hard reality.

And we know she was born in a country where her genitals weren’t mutilated to make her less likely to seek out sexual pleasure. We know that she wasn’t born into a country where women can be lashed for being out alone on the streets, or where girl’s are executed for being the victims of rape. We know she didn’t have to worry about stepping on a landmine on her way to school. We know she had access to clean water and healthy food. That seems like privilege to me.
I feel more important than her because I didn’t kill myself the second things didn’t go my way.
Also, you missed the point of my my post. The point is that the death of one person, while tragic, is not significant in the grand scheme of things... I find their deaths more worthy of tribute than some spoiled teenage girl that offed[sic] herself at the first sign of adversity.
