The Harlem Shake is a shitty template for a dancing video, the likes of which has been seen before, repeatedly. Many Harlem Shake videos have been made, not

one of which has shown any humor or originality. The majority of people react to the Harlem Shake with "omg they r dancing hahahhahah" which makes it not only an unfunny video, but an unfunny video with a fandom composed of mostly 13-year-old boys. Also, posting of the Harlem Shake is a great identifier for a newfag, which upon encountering you should beat the shit out of.

Origins/Variations

The chant used in each video was created in 2012 Surprisingly, the creator of the original video, Filthy Frank, was not a massive faggot and actually has some quality content. Some edgy kids from Australia made it into a CONFIRMED ME-ME and then a saga of people believing they were the first ones to release a Harlem Shake video began, repeated, and has yet to end. It seems that any original Harlem Shake video is shot down as being "not funny" and "not harlem shake" by esteemed youtube commentators.
