Not to be confused with [[{{{1}}}]].

This template is used to differentiate between two topics that have similar spelling, or meaning to help avoid confusion.

{{distinguish|Encyclopedia Dramatica}}

Yields: Not to be confused with Encyclopedia Dramatica.

Notes

Although it is an easy template to use, it can easily be fucked up by simple mistakes. These tips will help you use it efficiently:

  • Do not use any CSS/HTML tags within the template. (eg. </s>, </div>, </b>, </span>, </i>, etc) These will fuck up the code, and make the admins angry.
  • This template should go at the top of the article so others can see it easily.
  • Do not use page breaks within the template. (<br>, or <br />)
  • Do not use square brackets to link to another page. They're already in there, dummy!
  • When linking to another page, use the title of the article as is; do not pipe, or manipulate the text. Also, try not to link to redirects or miscellaneous pages.
    • For example, if you are linking to the DeviantART page, it should look something like this:

Not to be confused with DeviantART.

...and not like this:

Not to be confused with Tartlet.

  • In this case, Tartlet is a redirect, or piped link to DeviantART, and can bring confusion to the reader (or editor) if they are not familiar with the term. This template is intended to avoid confusion, not cause more of it; redirects can be somewhat ambiguous to new users.
