Oh they've been doing that for quite some time. I'm actually apparently on some sort of semi secretive "list" of sorts, where basically if something uber horrible happens technology wise I'm one of the people that gets brought in to help deal with it. It's a pretty big list though, plus I'm not anywhere near the very top...which personally I kind of find a bit insulting (especially given some of the others who are above me who I ~know~ aren't all that knowledgeable).

It ~is~ a good thing though. People with my level and range of technical knowledge SHOULD be kept an eye on. I mean if I ever went crazy it would be potentially disastrous for millions of people. I mean I know how to create anthrax out of the fuckin dirt in the back yard. I can build explosively pumped flux compression generators out of spare junk lying around the house. I've come up with plans and technical specs for devices that can completely destroy the entire physical architecture of a computer network along with every single device attached to it (and potentially set the building on fire from inside the wall).

People like me need to have FULL transparency, in everything we do. It's the whole cliche concept of "with great power comes great responsibility" only more like, "with great knowledge comes great responsibility". And that means making sure that if we ever go loopy there's some system in place that can actively stop us. --Onideus 03:18, 17 September 2013 (EDT)
