You can make your own XML article text backups using the Wikiteam Download Scripts. Just upload them to the Internet Archive, and post the link at the ArchiveTeam Wiki. Iruel 23:50, 19 February 2015 (EST)

Warning: For now, only make XML (full page text) backups. These are just a few hundred megabytes. ED's current image collection is over 2 Terabytes in size and growing, so image backups have to be done by the admins.

Image archives?

There are some ED archive torrents floating around, which include unused files, but most of them are a few years out of date...and all of them are freakin HUUUUUGE, we're talkin like ten gigs per. I've got my own personal archive of the entire site (and currently up to date), but again, it's enormously gigantor and on my shit connection it would take like a MONTH just to upload it anywhere ONCE. Same problem with the whole of my Data Archive:

It's over TWO TERABYTES in size (image material only) and contains around THREE MILLION files. Uploading it anywhere online is simply completely out of the question.

Yeah, I think a more recent site dump would be a good idea; what with the recent talk of ED being low on the monies, and possibly dying, again, by xmas. Can we please get a new archive?

It has been a long while since you guys have released an ED archive. I like this site and I would love to have a copy of all those lulzy articles for the days I or you go off the internet. I've tried the Special:Export feature but it looks like it doesn't export all the pages for some reason. Blau 01:50, 29 November 2014 (EST)
