—Comicality

Comicality is the internet alibi of a 35 year old "bisexual" male from Chicago. His site is filled with over 100 stories detailing the pressures and conflicts of living life as a gay teenager; but also showing that finding love in a seemingly bleak society is possible. He has been on the internets since 1998, providing love, support, and through his tales, a lifeline to many of his large fanbase. His forums indicate that Comicality has followers of all ages and races. The size of his fanbase could mean one of two things:

  1. He is a very talented writer or
  2. He's a better writer than everyone else

Comicality claims that he writes for therapeutic benefit to help cope with the physical abuse that he reportedly suffered from his father. And, as many of his fanbase could attest to, he provides a means of escape from the struggles hundreds of other gay teenagers around he world go through every day. A chance for them to see that they are not alone (i.e. "My Only Escape"), and that love is possible too.

The majority of Comicality's stories are about boys who come to terms with their sexuality and find love through their journeys.

  • New Kid in School - Two boys fall in love several times (**read about Tyler and you'll understand why). One of the largest compilations on the site.
  • Gone from Daylight - A vampire teenager stops another teen from killing himself, and shows him how love can med his soul.
  • Savage Moon - A 14 year old boy meets a mysterious group of werewolves, and falls into a journey through instincts, love, and a deeper family than he could have imagined.
  • A Class by Himself - A story that shows that it's not all about money and social class. Two boys can fall in love and f*** all those that don't approve.
  • The Secret Life of Billy Chase - A unique diary-like story, detailing the ups and downs of one Billy Chase, through love, heartbreak, fear, joy, truth and lies. (This is the one, people sit on the edge of their seats for every week!)

There are many, many more stories, but with each one Comicality shows again and again that he writes from his heart.

While there is "ONE" story about a relationship between a teenager and a man over 18, and again only "ONE", Comicality does not in any way suggest that his fan base go out and seek out relationships of this manner. He's not promoting anything here, he's merely showing that love really has no bounds; it transcends everything from race, gender. sexuality, even age.

The 'C' Symbol

The C symbol is a technique used by Comicality and his fanbase to meet up in real life. On a predetermined date, they draw a large C on the wrist of their main hand for a few weeks a year so they can identify each other . This provides an easy and secure way for many gay males to realize that they are not alone, and possibly find love of their won, without risking the need to come out to the general public. Typically between February 14th to the 21st and June 19th to the 26th you can expect to see the most C's.


Chatroom Closure

In April 2009, the Comicality Chatroom was closed with the following message:

Needless to say, both Comicality and his fanbase were in uproar. They are not pedophiles, Comicality provides a safe haven for both males of all types to escape from the judgements of much of society. Especially for some, who started reading whist in high school or middle school, and continue to be avid contributors and readers to this day.
