There doesn't seem to be a link to suggest an Article Of The Now, so I'll just leave my suggestion here I guess. If I simply overlooked it, please let me know.

"My" great 9GB image archive

When someone is interested... this is the archive I use for reuploading all the images on ED. Found it by just googling "Encyclopedia Dramatica Archive". It's a 12 GB archive (when you extract it it'll be only 9GB because some of the content is broken) so you need a night to download it but I think when more people have this ED will be complete much earlier: http://www.archive.org/download/2010-01-encyclopedia-dramatica/encyclopedia.dramatica.2010.01.13.rar (no viruses etc. (checked it)).

It only goes till 13. Jan. 2010 so many "new" images are missing. Just wanted to show you this because it's too much work for one guy to reupload so many images alone.

TIP: When you have it only search in the "images.encyclopediadramatica.com / images / thumb" folder for images because there're all the missing images.DekoMan91 14:29, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

Are the original file names intact as well? I've got a gigantor archive myself of images, but unfortunately I renamed them all using my own naming convention, which has made it a real pain in the butt to restore stuff using it. --Onideus 14:56, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

All images are in folders having the original names. Like you need lolo.PNG (capitalised PNG) you'll find it as lolo.PNG. This makes it very simple because you can copy the folder name behind the link encyclopediadramatica.ch/File: so you can easily restore it. Also take care: Often there are two images in one folder. One is the thumbnail image and the other one is the full size image (max image size for all the pictures in the archive is 800x600 so sometimes even the "fullsize" image is too small and needs the fullimagewanted template so others know it's too small). Cool deal. I'm wondering if it might be easier to setup a bot to auto restore stuff...I might try it on a small batch of like 10, see how well it works. Wiki is pretty solid so there shouldn't be any problems. The last bot I made, for quick harvesting DA galleries is pretty twitchy, mostly because they kept altering their naming and filing conventions. Inconsistencies in code and bots don't really work so good...unless you want to build some kind of rudimentary AI for it, but I've only chat bots on that level. --Onideus 17:25, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

Why am I wasting my life on this website?

I've been an EDiot a few months before the big disaster and after that,I felt a real connection with encyclopedia dramatica. I felt some sort of unity with the rest of the users and cause I thought it was my duty to reunite and rebuild ED.I started working day and night on articles,creating new articles,desperately searching for old images and even receiving multiple praises for my work. It's all fun and games until I realize how LIFE-CONSUMING this website really is.

Learning the internets,all kinds of useless memes thinking they had any significance in the real world;Working for articles nobody cares about nor will ever read...Maybe moralfags were right about ED.

Please give me a reason not to give up on this site...

I've edited the Sonmanic article, though the whole thing needs an overhaul, as it seems this babyfur might be trying to come back to his shitty fan film, after apparently being convinced by My Little Pony that flash ain't shit(lol).
