The sea. That's all.

Seapunk is a music genre invented by Lil' Internet in 1994. It's kinda like witchhouse except instead of being dark and broody its themes are beach related. It sounds like Lisa Frank having sex with a Caribbean drummer recorded through Windows 95.

Tumblr adopted the genre around 2010 when it was going through an ａｅｓｔｈｅｔｉｃ phase involving the sibling genres Vaporwave, Aloewave, and the much more outgoing cousin Futurefunk.

As with most music genres, the fashion style of its listeners is more important than the sound of the music itself. Basically 3D spinning GIFs of dolphins, except no N64. No one makes Seapunk anymore.
