Windows XP V windows 7
XP is the best shit M$ have came out with. It had radical color and anybody who disliked that obviously don't have an eye for design. 7 - a horrible fucking UI, First why is folder options under the view/arrange icons by menu, Second why is control panel such a mess of text links and shit, and why cant we simply open the network connections folder and view the icons for each connection.
XP pros:
- It's both simple looking and advanced functionality wise, it looks like a teletubby but its really darth vader
- Has 'legacy' technologies that can be useful in today's world
- Allows a domain or workgroup to be typed not just selected from a list like windows 7
- Layout and design is almost perfect.
- Has lots of functionality
- Luna and bliss.jpg
- No longer is targeted much by hackers or viruses (despite all the stupid end of support hype)
- B0 Is surprisingly compatible with programs and features such as networking services (see B1
- B1 Some built in programs from windows server 2003 work on XP (M$ don't want you to know that)
- Doesn't bug you to authenticate a fucking password for like EVERYTHING
- Is super customizable
- A0 it can host a FTP web and email server using IIS.
- A1 it can technically be a Terminal Server (see A2)
- A2 it can host roaming profile
- Easy to navigate in
- Supports USB 2.0, sata 2, fire-wire, dvd, .zip, virtual storage device images (not ISO tho), it can run MS ramdisk utility.
- Not that slow actually but programs can stop responding in fairness.
- Easily hackable - more functionality/customization but less security
- Has a kick ass CLI tool-set (gpedit, regedit, ieshwiz, sysdm, control, rundll32, TSS, edit, DEBUG, runas, at/schtasks
windows 7 pros
- Is more Secure from viruses and hacking
- less buggy
- supports .ISO images
- less bloated
- it isn't like vista except the theme+design is just as bad
- it has some useful customize options I wish XP had such as the ability to show/hide 'my videos' from the start menu.
- it has the tablet PC support pack already built in
windows XP cons
- buggy
- programs can crash at times or stop responding till doomsday
- can be extremely goofy
- uninstalling IE in the components manager completely screws the whole OS up. Nice job btw there M$ you fat greasy shits.
- bloated with legacy icons and dialog boxes, hotfixes, patches, service packs, and unimplemented features.
- lack of 16 or 64 bit driver or program support.
- HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\
7 cons
- pestering - user authentication for running some command line, deleting some types of files etc etc etc.
- cant find a fuckin thing, where is the fucking explorer menu bar
- looks ugly
- isnt as hackable or modifiable as XP
- still cant find a thing.
- ran by ballmer baldy head
- its harder to crack the stupid buggy product registration
