Server Image Tagging

Is there some way to shut that off? It seems to be rather random...sometimes it leaves it the fuck in the image SUMMARY where it's ~supposed~ to fucking be and then other times the stupid server copies it and plasters it underneath the image itself...which is a real pain in the ass to remove every...single...freakin...time. ಠ_ಠ

--Onideus 21:49, 8 October 2013 (EDT)

It does say "comment" when one uploads an image right?geee, i wonder why it would be doing that... hmm i wonder.-- Talk to me|Contribs 22:08, 8 October 2013 (EDT)-- Talk to me|Contribs 22:08, 8 October 2013 (EDT)
Um, actually it says SUMMARY on the upload page...it says COMMENT in, ya know, the COMMENT SECTION...which is where it's SUPPOSED TO BE...not duplicated under the fuckin image at RANDOM. Hurr de durr! --Onideus 22:11, 8 October 2013 (EDT)

Clienthold has been removed from the domain, we're going to be back to ed.se soon as we transfer registrars. --Mantequilla (talk) 15:07, 14 October 2013 (EDT)

What The Hell?

Apparently my lil post on the IFF was restored and replied to (as well as an e-mail I collectively sent the board of directors) and uh...well the major players at the IFF are claiming total ignorance on the issue regarding our domain name loss. According to them they have no idea about why our domain was fucked and are asking ~me~ for more information about it. So what's the deal? --Onideus 01:52, 13 October 2013 (EDT)

we never said it was the IFF. 101domain suspended the domain because of a complain from some e-lawyer. The complaint was proven bullshit so they restored the domain. Nothing more. --Mantequilla (talk) 09:27, 16 October 2013 (EDT)
Yeah that's basically what they said, that they didn't have anything to do with it directly, however once I got them riled up they did apparently contact the registrar (according to them) and basically told them point blank to reinstate it. It was reinstated within 24 hours of their e-mail telling me that they contact them. Somehow I get the impression that the domain registrar had no intention at all of reinstating it otherwise, even if the claim was bullshit.
I kind of wish you had been more forthcoming with the what the ~actual~ problem was, since I could have just contacted the IFF ~nicely~ instead of just outright attacking the holy bejesus out of them and their funding sources . When a domain registrar does something like that and isn't being cooperative that's the point at which you go over their head and take to the ACTUAL domain registry organization and have them intervene. Even if they can't get the registrar to reverse their decision they ~can~ force them to immediately transfer it to a new registrar.
You really, REALLY should have contacted the IFF the very ~second~ they pulled the plug...which I ASSumed you did, because that's the way it sounded when it was described, especially with the whole "FUCK SWEDEN!" brigade...of which absolutely nothing was done to quell or otherwise explain the situation. Meaning without any transparency, you basically inadvertently directed everyone's hate/anger towards entitites that weren't even directly responsible at all. --Onideus 17:19, 16 October 2013 (EDT)
What exactly is not forthcoming about this? --Mantequilla (talk) 17:25, 16 October 2013 (EDT)
...that's not forthcoming ~at all~. ಠ_ಠ
That's posted on a random article and doesn't really say ~anything~...in fact to be honest when I saw that I ASSumed (as I'm sure many others did), that they weren't even related at all. That message was added like...what, a WEEK after the domain loss/change? And it doesn't ~say~ anything...at least as far as WHO it's directed to. In fact it looks like it was directed solely at the site, not at any hosting/domain provider.
There was no "official" message about the situation posted on the forums, the TJC, the FB page, or any other ~directly~ PUBLIC page...cause seriously...who gives a shit about that Assarelli or what the fuck ever his name is...FUCK HIM! 90% of the people reading ED have probably never even seen the guys page nor could they give two shits one way or the other whether his article even existed or not, much less are they going to his page to look for "official" explainations of what's going on.
And again, ~nothing~ was done at all to quell the whole "FUCK SWEDEN!" brigade which was trying to organize and amass itself right on the fucking forums, not to mention ~their~ article I believe was edited to point them out at the instigator of all this (and I don't think it's even been reversed yet).
The whole situation could have been handled a ~lot~ more professionally, especially with some sort of "official" announcement plainly stating who started it all (that ASSguy) and who was holding their bullshit (101domain). I mean you ~do~ realize that there are presently a whole FUCKTON of people who ~still~ think it was the whole of SWEDEN that's responsible for all this? Who probably are, as we speak, griefing their country and its interests in any number of horrible, nasty, vindictive ways simply because there's been no real "official" announcement/explanation. --Onideus 17:42, 16 October 2013 (EDT)
If people think that it is only because you told them. I never said anything of the sort and explained it in IRC at least a dozen times. --Mantequilla (talk) 11:47, 17 October 2013 (EDT)
I agree with Onideus. Keeping the community in the dark wasn't a good idea. --JuniusThaddeus 07:28, 17 October 2013 (EDT)
I didn't keep the community in the dark, I told whoever asked. I thought it was well known, as I posted it on Twitter and Facebook. Sorry but you not paying attention is not my fault. --Mantequilla (talk) 11:46, 17 October 2013 (EDT)
Let's check Twitter and Facebook:
I see information stating that the domain went down and then information about the domain being restored to us, but I don't see information about why the domain was suspended. "E-laywer" JoeySixOne and 101domain aren't mentioned. Frankly, there's more information about the domain going down in this thread than there is at Facebook and Twitter. --JuniusThaddeus 13:25, 17 October 2013 (EDT)
Putting him on blast all over twitter/facebook would have accomplished nothing but stroking his ego. -Uberfukken 13:43, 17 October 2013 (EDT)
Our obligations to the ED community and our Twitter and Facebook followers ought to overrule such petty concerns. He temporarily suspended our domain. That's a fact, and we shouldn't hide facts just because the facts are inconvenient. --JuniusThaddeus 14:22, 17 October 2013 (EDT)
Well, next time I'll ask instead of expecting an official announcement then...and then ~I'll~ make an UNofficial announcement so we won't wind up with the whole ED's users gunning for innocent parties. Also I agree with JT, it's in our better interests to directly point out those who are trying to take down ED, rather than keeping it all hush-hush because it might make us "look bad"...cause it really doesn't. This ASSguy or what-the-fuck-ever...he needs to go down...hard. Speaking of which, was that true about the lawyer thing, that it's fake? Cause if it is...we need to sue his ass...right now, get it done. Hire a lawyer if you have to, but *SUE* his stupid fucking ass. It's the only way his type ever learn to stop fucking up. I'll help PAY for the gawd damn lawyer if you need me to. --Onideus 14:39, 17 October 2013 (EDT)
Mmmm, and while you're at it, I'd file another lawsuit against 101Domain just on general principle, given how much they were dragging their feet over a FAKE lawyer (I'm presuming you're accurate on that). Doesn't have to be a big lawsuit either, small claims is fine, it'll be enough to get the point across. --Onideus 14:59, 17 October 2013 (EDT)
^^^ this, asalieri used a fake lawyer to sue us and take us down, if we made an official statement then that fat asshole would've fucked by a lot of ED users.--milwinWanna get toasty :3 12:20, 18 October 2013 (EDT)

Good news everyone!

I just got confirmation that we will in fact be getting our ED.se domain back. I am just waiting for it to be turned back on. --Mantequilla (talk) 08:39, 14 October 2013 (EDT)

Guess that means I have to stop relentlessly tormenting them and their funding sources. I'm glad they've chosen not to be forever etched into human history as site burning Nazis...because I really wasn't exaggerating about that...

...at all. --Onideus 09:07, 14 October 2013 (EDT)

Nice work. --JuniusThaddeus 09:24, 14 October 2013 (EDT)

Clienthold has been removed. I'm just gonna forward it for now, before we reinstate we're going to transfer it to a registrar who has confirmed to me via support ticket would not suspend us without trying to work with us first.--Mantequilla (talk) 15:05, 14 October 2013 (EDT)
Lunar Pages is real good. That's one of the reasons I got my sites hit with a massive DDoS attack, because LP pretty much let me do whatever the hell I wanted and just flushed any complaints, so the only other recourse was to use illegal attacks to bring it down. --Onideus 15:53, 14 October 2013 (EDT)
So we gonna ditch this .es domain I'm assuming. ••General Niggerson Page me. 16:10, 14 October 2013 (EDT)
We'll keep it as a backup but yeah all our backlinks etc are on .se so we will be moving it back over as soon as we switch registrars. Hopefully sometime tomorrow. --Mantequilla (talk) 16:32, 14 October 2013 (EDT)
Can we use .es as a redirect to .se? i read somewher that having redirects with the same name has good SEO, plus that would help people who hvn't heard about the move back.-- Talk to me|Contribs 19:23, 14 October 2013 (EDT)
^^^This
it would be much more easier and if we redirected it we don't have to worry about changing the links of .es to .se in articles.--milwinWanna get toasty :3 19:29, 14 October 2013 (EDT)
Yeah it will be all redirected. Right now http://encyclopediadramatica.se redirects but it will be the other way around tomorrow or whatever. --Mantequilla (talk) 19:29, 14 October 2013 (EDT)

Something Awful had a no shit pedophile as a moderator and member for nearly ten years!

The guys at Something Sensitive hit the goddamned motherlode and doxxed an unbelievably sick fuck mod named Aatrek, who had a record where he raped an 8 year old in his teens.

He just got permabanned from SA and Lowtax and his fellow butt buddies are trying to do damage control right now. If you want to know more, check out this thread:

DarkLordTR --> Talk here, n00bs. 17:05, 22 October 2013 (EDT)

The incredible ironic thing is that I know of at ~least~ one SASS users whose a BLATANT pedophile and likely has a similar record I'd wager (given how he tries to "defend" his sick interests). They should be *VERY* careful about throwing stones in their lil glass house as the SA goons will likely decide to try and repay them in kind. --Onideus 21:51, 22 October 2013 (EDT)
Oni I don't think it's a solid wager that someone who 'defends their interests' necessarily has raped children, that seems like bullshit to me. What's next, everyone in favour of legalizing pot has smoked some? Everyone who wants to legalize gay marriage is gay? Everyone who wants to keep same-sex marriage illegal is straight or a religious bigot? If you have something to say about a SASS user why not just make a page about them and let the democratic community editing process decide? 04:50, 30 October 2013 (EDT)
TR you leave me wondering, how old was Aatrek when he allegedly "raped" an 8 year old? There's a bit of a difference between having this record at 13 and having it at 19. I don't think the former should prohibit someone from holding a moderation position later on in their life as an adult. 04:50, 30 October 2013 (EDT)
