Dad on the toilet again, or music?

Dubstep is a faggy genre of acoustic banjo music that has its roots in reggae and London's early 2000s UK garage scene. Musically, dubstep is distinguished by its 2step rhythm, or use of snare sounds similar to 2step garage and grime, and an emphasis on bass, often producing "dark" sounds, but just as frequently producing sounds reminiscent of dub reggae or funky US garage. It can be also be distinguished by sounding like someone having an asthma attack into a microphone with a lot of feedback. Dubstep tracks are generally produced at a tempo of around 140 beats per minute and in recent years have developed signature half time rhythms, often heavily shuffled or syncopated, and usually, though not exclusively, including only one snare drum hit per bar, often on the third beat. Seriously, this fucking shit makes Soulja Boy sound like Mozart.

Characteristics

DJ Spliff and DJ Crunkgsta, pioneers of the genre.

In truth, dubstep is a musical genre devoid of real talent or artistic integrity. The fabled "drops" sound like a down syndrome android taking a dump through a vocoder. Even when the production is clean and decent samples are used, there is a glass ceiling of garbage and wackness that dubstep is unable to rise above. There has been no dubstep song that was memorable or of serious quality. I mean, the weird sound effects might sound interesting at first, but the novelty very quickly wears off. All you are left with is a bunch of pop songs being churned through a simplistic formula, with a standard-issue spastic drop thrown in. The genre is so limited and dumb in its nature that it simply cannot develop past this. Ultimately, it will be remembered as a particularly embarrassing fad that testifies to the fail of fags who were born in the 90s.
