My Anime List

MAL is the annoying college student 20 year old hipster cousin of gaiaonline. It is where you go to if you want to shit on modern anime (no seriously). This entire website is about whining over "how shitty anime has become" and "how anime used to be so much better before". If "Legend Of The Galactic Heroes" is not the top anime in your "favorite anime of all time" list, don't even bother trying to use the forums.

As the name suggests, the website's main feature is serving as an over glorified notepad to keep track of the anime you are watching, because apparently watching too much anime can fuck up your brain so hard that memorizing the episode in which you left off is too hard. Everyone's lists are attached to their profiles which can be view'd publicly by anyone. The "completed anime list" is used by MAL regulars as a way to show off their e-penis, as if the amount of time you've wasted watching chinese cartoons was something to brag about.

Xinil

Xinil is the (possibly Jew) NORP who runs this forsaken website. Not much is really known about him, other than he deletes all criticism of his website (even if it is posted on the suggestions board), he's possibly a jew, he's a NORP, he deletes all criticism of his website, possibly a jew... and he's a faggot.

/a/'s boogieman

It didn't take long for MAL to become /a/'s next boogieman. First it was gaia, then it was /v/, then /b/, and then MAL. How did this whole thing even start? Some MAL users around 2008 grew tired of the shitfest that is their forums and quickly found out about 4chan's /a/ board. They then decided to only use MAL as their notepad database and /a/ as their website to discuss anime. This, of course, lead /a/ to use the good ol' (everyone that I disagree with comes from X website). Was there any real way to know if someone is a MALfag? Well, most MAL users tend to like 80s/90s mechashit and manime like Cowboy Bebop, whereas /a/ likes moe and sol garbage like Lucky Star, you start to see where I'm coming from? Anyone who claimed to enjoy anything that wasn't pedophile hentai was deemed a MALfag and told to fuck off.

Was there any real danger to /a/ here? Well, newfags are never a good thing. Ever since the MAL (and /v/) invasion, things that were previously a felony on /a/ (such as Naruto threads) started being allowed against /a/'s will. Meanwhile, Lucky Star threads (and threads related to shows of similar nature) were starting to get trolled. I guess you could say /a/ was in the right for being scared, but at the same time, we're talking about anigays so really, who gives a flying fuck?
